December CPD: What A Finish To 2023

Posted on Jan 08, 2024. by NTI

December saw the Insolvency Practitioners’ Association announce their new ‘CPE’ regime, which came into force on 1 January, hot on the heels of the ICAEW’s new regime from November.

With NTI's CPD TAP, all the time spent listening to or downloading our up-to-the-moment webcasts is CPD that is both 'verifiable' and extremely useful. We had a great December, publishing 13 CPD TAP webcasts totalling 3 hours 39 minutes of updates, commentary, 'teaching moments' and, most importantly, highly relevant CPD.

Here is a summary of some of the content from December that is, of course, always available on the NTI app and can be listened to and shared at any time:

**   We looked at the Cineworld Administration case, and the discretion to make an Administration Order

**   Restructuring Plans remained a hot topic – this month we covered the recent HMRC guidance, and the CB&I UK Ltd case dealing with Part 26A

**   We also continued our Consumer Issues series, looking at issues facing the Personal Insolvency and Debt Advice sectors

**   We provided a reminder of the key phases and offences of Money Laundering

**   We also then looked at the fundamental principles of professional ethics

**   A vital update on MVL tax clearance was issued by HMRC

**   As mentioned above, the IPA issued their new CPE, Client Money and Professional Indemnity Insurance regulations and guidance: we had a webcast on each

**   Misfeasance under the Companies Act was covered in our webcast on the Worsley v Gould case

**   We covered the Atento UK Restructuring Plan case

**   Neil spoke to Richard Bloomfield from FRP about his views on the profession and his 2024 predictions

There is so much to tap into, enjoy and learn and the NTI app always keeps the most up-to-the-moment changes in our sector fresh and verifiable.
