Katie Price was arrested yesterday evening (Thursday 8 August) at Heathrow Airport after she returned to the UK from Turkey.
The S364 arrest warrant was issued for the former model on 30 July after she failed to attend a court hearing relating to her two Bankruptcies. By way of a recap, she was declared Bankrupt in November 2019 and then again in March of this year whilst undischarged from the first, making this a true case of a second Bankruptcy under S334 Insolvency Act 1986.
The PA news agency is reporting this morning (Friday 9) that Ms Price was bailed yesterday evening before a court appearance today.
Previously, Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton said Ms Price had received "very clear warnings" she must attend the hearing on 30 July. However, the court heard it had been reported that Ms Price had travelled to Turkey. Judge Burton added that an arrest warrant was not issued "lightly" but Ms Price had offered only "piecemeal co-operation" and had failed to provide the "most basic information" in relation to her Bankruptcies.
In a (now deleted) Instagram post issued before she landed back in the UK, Katie Price commented “Despite what has been misreported I am now in route [sic] back from filming my documentary. I was never just abroad being ignorant to what's going on and I stand by the facts, which is that there have been miscommunications here between a number of people here to do with my Bankruptcy. I am returning home from work, & I am aware that I am about to be detained at the airport which is obviously what the courts feel is necessary…”.
It has been reported that the work in question was the filming of a documentary on cosmetic procedures. Furthermore, photos of the former model at Heathrow yesterday show her in bandages, suggesting she may have undergone a procedure herself.
